Memorial Library Staff Information

Assessment Overview

Library assessment is a continuing process, using a variety of methods to evaluate and measure how effective the Memorial Library is in supporting its mission. Ongoing assessment provides us with the necessary data needed to improve services, identify changing patterns in users’ needs and promote library resources and services.

Memorial Library's assessment is concentrated roughly on three areas:

  • Information literacy instruction
  • Collections
  • Services

Assessment activities include collecting data to analyze trends and changes in the use of resources and services; conducting surveys of students, faculty and staff; and engaging in qualitative assessment activities such as the institutional external review process.
