April

  • Annual Student Honors Show & Memorial Library Purchase Award

May

  • May Librarians Meeting - select library representatives to faculty committees and report to the Provost's Office administrative assistant
  • May 15-24 - Lyrasis Board of Trustees Election
  • Odd years - confirm library's participation in biannual MISO survey with CIO
  • Before the end of the Spring semester - Library Director notifies candidates that time-in-service criteria have been met for promotion eligibility.

August

  • Two Fridays before classes start - Library Director attends Deans, Department Chairs & Directors meeting, organized by the provost.

September

  • Odd years - Libraries Committee & IT Committee review MISO survey information.

  • ACRL Academic Library Trends and Statistics Survey opens. Jenny Kleine manages the library's response.

January 

  • Review cost/use data for fiscal year subscriptions. Identify any subscriptions that match the criteria for review and discuss next steps with the liaison and/or librarians group as appropriate. 
  • Review Group MUSE EBA usage statistics in order to make selections of titles for permanent acquisition. Submit selections by January 31. (Look for message from LYRASIS.)

March

April

  • 2nd week, discuss materials budget revisions with liaison librarians, identifying priorities for reallocated funds.
  • mid-month, submit GALILEO commitment letter for the next fiscal year (fall FTE will be required for completing the letter)
  • April 30, suspend faculty non-rush book orders.

May

  • May 16-June 16, Review JSTOR EBA usage statistics in order to make selections of titles for permanent acquisition. Look for email from JSTOR. If title-selection file is not returned, JSTOR will automatically process our most-used titles for acquisition.
  • May 5- June 15, ProQuest's notification of title removals from ebook subscriptions

June

  • 1st week, create new budget in WMS

July

  • 1st week, roll over previous year's budget in WMS
  • Review cost/use data for calendar year subscriptions. Identify any subscriptions that match the criteria for review and discuss next steps with the liaison and/or librarians group as appropriate. 

October

  • Submit renewals/cancellations/new titles to subscription service (currently EBSCO).

November

December

  • mid-month, ProQuest's notification of title removals from ebook subscriptions
