How Memorial Library approaches student work is potentially the intersection of one of the college’s areas of emphasis – high-impact educational practices – and the areas of importance that we identified in 2018. In a Journal of Academic Librarianship article, Rosan Mitola, Erin Rinto & Emily Pattni argue that student employment can be framed in terms of the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) High-Impact Practices, which are established educational activities that “increase rates of student retention and student engagement.”
