This guide explains how to use RefWorks, online citation management software available for Berry students, faculty & staff.

What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is a web-based tool that allows you to collect, organize and store citations and create bibliographies (in hundreds of different citation styles) in seconds.

How do I create an account?

Creating a RefWorks account is quick, easy, and free for Berry students, faculty, and staff. Here's how:

  1. Go to
  2. Click "Sign up for an Individual Account."
  3. Complete the form by providing your name, email address and by choosing a login and password. Click "Register."

It says I need a "Group Code" to login. How do I get it?

If you're logging in to RefWorks from off-campus , you will be prompted to enter Berry College's group code. To get Berry's Group Code, you can either go to the original confirmation email that RefWorks sent to you when you created your account, or you can click on the "Forgot Your Log-in?" link on the RefWorks login page to have the Group Code emailed to you again. If you are still having trouble, call the Library Service Desk to obtain the group code.
