Measuring Your Impact: Journal Rankings, Citation Analysis, and Other Metrics

Overview

Scopus, a bibliographic literature database, also offers citation and field analysis and citation mapping. Although Memorial Library does not subscribe to Elsevier's Scopus, some metrics data is freely available.

At the journal level, Scopus provides 

• CiteScore - average citations received per document published in the journal
• SCImago Journal Rank - weighted citations received by the serial
• SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper) - actual citations received relative to citations expected for the serial’s subject field

At the author level, Scopus provides

• number of citations to an article
• publication history
• h-index

Search Scopus by journal title, ISBN, publisher or subject
