    Memorial Library welcomes Spires residents to use the library, including on-campus access to most electronic resources, printing, and college wifi. You can also register to check out books. More details are below.

Where to start?

Borrowing Materials

All Spires residents have the same borrowing privileges as other community members.

To register, provide one of the following forms of identification:

  • Current, valid Georgia Driver’s License or State Identification Card with current address.
  • Another type of photo identification or a current, valid library card from the Sara Hightower Regional Library plus documentation of current address.
  • Official documentation of Spires residency.

You'll be able to check out up to 5 books for a 4-week loan period.

Frequently Asked Questions

What services/resources are not available to me?

There are just a few resources and services that are available only to current students, faculty and staff:

  1. Wireless printing. Wireless printing is limited to current Berry students, faculty and staff. You can print from any Library computer, though. Guest printing is $.10 per page.
  2. Interlibrary loan. Our agreements with other libraries limit interlibrary loan services to current Berry students, faculty and staff. We'll be happy, though, to help you find alternate ways of accessing the resources you need.
  3. Remote access to electronic resources. Our licenses with vendors and publishers limit use of nearly all e-resources to current students, faculty, staff, and "walk-in" users. As long as you're connected to the Berry network (wireless or wired, including Berry Guest wifi), which covers most of the main campus, you'll have access.
  4. Borrowing of some kinds of high-demand materials, such as items from our lending technology collection, magazines, reference materials, etc. (We're still discussing these limitations, so check back for updates & email us if you have questions.)
  5. A few specialized electronic resources, such as SciFinder Scholar & Morningstar. Rarely, the license agreement for an electronic resource restricts all use to current students, faculty and staff. The Research Databases directory provides links and any special access information.
