Interlibrary Loan

A basic outline of how to use Memorial Library's interlibrary loan services.

How to Find and Request a Book Chapter

The simplest way to make an interlibrary loan request is to go through our WorldCat catalog. Follow these steps to find and request material for interlibrary loan.

Step 1: Search the catalog. Go to the Memorial Library homepage at www.berry.edu/academics/library/. Select the Books tab, enter your search, and click Go.

Step 2: Select the correct bookSelect the Print format under the Format dropdown in the left Column. (Note: libraries do not loan eBooks!)

From the list of potential books, choose the entry that best matches your desired item. Click the title link for the item.

Step 3: Double-check that the book is the correct one. Be sure to check for correct author(s), edition, and publication history. Click on the "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan" button.

If you're searching from off-campus: After clicking the "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan" button, you will need to log in with your AD credentials.

Step 4: Fill out the Interlibrary Loan Request Form. An Interlibrary Loan Request form will appear that is pre-filled with information about the item you want to request.

Add the Chapter Title and Chapter Page Numbers (if known) into their respective fields.

Please enter the "Needed Before" date (Should be at least 14 days from now. This represents the average turnaround time.)

Add Book Chapter in the Comments box. Click the Submit request button.

Your request has been submitted and will appear in your library account with a 'Pending' status.
