An Introduction to Memorial Library's streaming video databases and recorded video collection

Streaming Video Platforms

Memorial Library offers three comprehensive steaming video platforms, plus many other resource collections that include streaming video content.

  • Films on Demand is a subscription-based platform for documentary and instructional films. We pay an annual fee to have unlimited educational-use access to all content in their Master Academic Collection and the Veterinary Science collection. Content from PBS, BBC, HBO, Films for the Humanities & Sciences, etc. Non-commercial public performances are permitted.
  • Kanopy is a subscription-based platform for documentary and feature films. We pay an annual fee based on how many films are used viewed and how many times they are viewed. Kanopy's full catalog is available for start-to-finish viewing 24-7. Some films include public performance rights for non-commercial public performances.
  • Swank Digital Campus uses a request-based model. Everyone can view the full catalog but only faculty can set up an account that enables them to request that the library purchase a one-year educational-use license for a film. Requests can be placed at any time, but require moderation by both library staff and staff at Swank. Once a license is purchased, most films are available for all Berry students, faculty and staff to view - for a few films, however, viewing is limited to students enrolled in a particular class. Swank Digital Campus films cannot be used for non-teaching purposes.

In addition, Digital Theatre+ is a platform for the study of performing arts and dramatic texts, featuring full-length films of current leading productions as well as behind-the-scenes insights from theatre makers and guides to understanding plot, character, language, historical context, and authors.
