American Hebrew & Jewish Messenger (New York, 1857-1922)
The weekly Jewish Messenger, in English, German & Hebrew, began publishing in New York City in 1857. It merged with the American Hebrew in 1879.
American Israelite (Cincinnati, 1854-2000)
English-language Jewish weekly newspaper published in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 1854 as The Israelite and assuming its present name in 1874, it is the second longest-running Jewish newspaper in the world.

Jewish Advocate (Boston, 1905-1990)
A weekly Jewish newspaper serving Greater Boston and the New England area.Established in 1902, it is the oldest continuously-circulated English-language Jewish newspaper in the United States.

Serves the Jewish community of Greater Philadelphia and has been published continuously since April 15, 1887.

One of the first and only publications to offer insight into the lives of the national and local Jewish communities.
The Jewish South (Richmond, 1893-1899)
Being one of few publications concerning Jews in the South, it reported on events of neighboring counties in Virginia including Norfolk, Staunton, and Petersburg. In its latter years the newspaper expanded reporting to include news of interest from around the world.
The Sentinel (Chicago, 1911-1977)
A weekly paper for the Chicago Jewish community, was one of the longest continuously published Jewish weeklies in the United States.
The Southern Israelite. (Augusta, GA, 1925-1986)
Established the Southern Israelite as a temple bulletin.Even in the earliest years, the paper not only covered the news of the southern Jewry, but also the issues that involved Jewish populations throughout the nation and world, including the Holocaust and later the creation of the Jewish state of Israel.
