Memorial Library Staff Information

Statistics and Data

Memorial Library draws on a range of data sources in order to understand and meet the needs of the Berry community.

ACRL & IPEDS

ACRL Academic Library Trends and Statistics and the National Center for Education Statistics' IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System). Reporting to ACRL is voluntary, but we have done so for many years and most of our peer/aspirant institutions also report, so the annual ACRL Academic Library Trends and Statistics is a good source of comparative information. All institutions that receive federal funding are expected to report a variety of statistical data, including data related to libraries to NCES, via IPEDS. NCES collects counts of books, media, serials, and database collections held in the physical and digital/electronic form; physical circulation and digital/electronic usage; interlibrary loan services; and library expenditures. ACRL collects data on staffing, information services to groups & individuals, hours of operation, gate count, etc.
