Title Change Notifications

Title Change Notifications

A notification email comes weekly, on Monday. Notifications are only for journals we subscribe to via EBSCO.

  • To receive by email: In EBSCONet, log in to your account and go to Account Preferences. On the Notification Preferences tab, select Email for New Title Changes.

Click on link in the email & sign in to EBSCONet when prompted. Most will be in ejournal blanket licenses. Click on the Title Name to see what type of subscription we have.

Review Notifications by Type

  • Issues per Year/Title Frequency Change: this is only pertinent for journals we receive in print. Cetoria receives these, too – no action necessary.
  • Title Status Change: For subscriptions that come as part of ejournal blanket licenses, no action is necessary. For individually selected subscriptions, some action may be necessary:
    • Delayed or any publication status that indicates the journal is still being published: no action needed
    • Changed to open access: EBSCO will continue to charge us $15 annually if we don’t cancel the subscription for the following calendar year.
    • Discontinued: make sure the subscription is dropped for the following calendar year. Forward to Sherre for checking in Collection Manager.
  • Publisher Change: If the change is to a publisher for which we have a blanket license, no action is necessary.
    • If the change is to a publisher that would result in us no longer having access, check usage data and consult with liaison librarian to determine whether adding a subscription is necessary.
