ProQuest

ProQuest LibCentral

ProQuest sends notifications of titles to be removed from LibCentral twice yearly, in June and December. Post the list of removal titles for liaisons to review and make recommendations for purchase. Liaisons will need to recommend a license type for some titles, so provide definitions, especially for non-linear and unlimited.

  • non-linear: can be lent to any number of patrons concurrently but the number of days used for each loan is subtracted from 325 annual loan days (the number of loan days resets every 365 days)
  • unlimited: any number of patrons can access unlimited titles concurrently for any number of days per year

Submit any purchases as described in the information from ProQuest.

Publisher Updates for a New Subscription Year

Publisher Updates for a New Subscription Year

Publisher updates will start arriving in email around October for the next calendar year. Pay particular attention to publishers for which we have comprehensive licenses:

  • EBSCO
  • American Chemical Society
  • BioOne
  • Oxford University Press
  • Project Muse
  • Sage
  • Springer/Nature
  • University of Chicago
  • Wiley

In general, you are looking for news concerning titles we have current subscriptions to.

  • Take-over titles Check the list of takeover titles in EBSCONet to see if there are any we already have direct subscriptions to. If so, check with our EBSCO representative to see if we can cancel the existing subscription.
  • Cessations Notify liaison that journals in their area are ceasing & when. If the subscription includes print, also notify Cetoria.
  • Titles moving to another publisher Decide whether titles moving to another publisher need to be reviewed for adding a subscription. Check cost/use data to see if a direct subscription might be warranted. If so, research to see where the titles is moving. Consult with the liaison/librarians group about whether to add a direct subscription.
