EBSCO periodically sends email notification of titles added and dropped from our package subscriptions. Review the notifications by Action:
Added To (Take-over titles) Check the title EBSCONet to see if we have an existing direct subscription. If so, check with our EBSCO representative to see whether there is anything we need to do.
Removed From (Titles moving to another publisher) Decide whether titles moving to another publisher need to be reviewed for adding a subscription. Check cost/use data to see if a direct subscription might be warranted. If so, research to see where the titles is moving. Consult with the liaison/librarians group about whether to add a direct subscription.
In the months leading up to a new calendar year, EBSCO sends email notifications of ejournal packages that are ready to renew. When renewal has been confirmed:
License Parameters Some licenses (most notably Taylor & Francis) require that we maintain a spending target but allow us to swap the titles we subscribe to. This decision should have been discussed and made previously, but if not, review cost/use/turnaway data for any changes that need to be made.
Unavailable Titles These are titles that are being dropped from the package. These should have been reviewed previously, but if not, review cost/use data to determine whether any titles listed here need to have subscriptions added.
Newly Acquired Titles EBSCO should take care of transferring any existing subscriptions being taken over by a new publisher, but review for notification about relevant titles to liaisons.
