Evelyn Coleman (1948-), American novelist and children's writer, is best known for suspense novels for adults and young adults that are inspired by her experiences growing up in the segregated American South. She has won critical acclaim for her work, including a Carter G. Woodson Award. She has also been nominated for an Edgar Award for juvenile fiction.
