Early records of Augusta County, Virginia show John and James Berry, probably brothers, emigrated from Ireland about 1745-46. James brought his wife, Elizabeth Enfield Berry and son, Thomas. James died in October 1749, as on November 2, 1749, his widow filed her bond in the sum of 500 pounds as administratrix of his estate, with her son Thomas and nephew Charles Berry as sureties. John Berry died in 1771. He had 6 children.
